Forschungsstipendium des West-Instituts für die Durchführung von wissenschaftlichen Untersuchungen im Bereich der Geschichte Polens in den Jahren 1939-1945

Das West-Instituts in Poznań schreibt ein Forschungsstipendium aus für die Durchführung von wissenschaftlichen Untersuchungen im Bereich der Geschichte Polens in den Jahren 1939-1945 mit besonderer Berücksichtigung der deutschen Besetzung.

Um das Stipendium können sich wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiter einer Institution mit Sitz außerhalb der Republik Polen bewerben, die sich mit wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten im Bereich der Geschichte Polens während des Zweiten Weltkrieges ausweisen können, bzw. in diesen Forschungsbereich einsteigen wollen. Bevorzugt werden Projekte in Bezug auf die deutsche Besatzung.

Das Stipendium wird für den Zeitraum von 2 bis 6 Monaten gewährt. Das Stipendium soll in Polen realisiert werden; Untersuchungen im Ausland werden vom West-Institut nicht finanziert.

Die Entscheidung über die Gewährung des Stipendiums trifft der Direktor des Westinstituts auf Grundlage von Empfehlungen einer dazu bestellten Kommission. Das Institut behält sich vor, die beantragte Dauer des Stipendiums zu verkürzen.

Der/Die Stipendiat/in erhält monatlich 1200 EUR (umgerechnet in Zloty nach aktuellem Umtauschkurs). Es werden keine Zusatzleistungen gezahlt (z.B. Reisekostenerstattung u. dergl.).

Die Einsendefrist der Anträge für das im Jahr 2019 umzusetzende Stipendium endet am 30. September 2018.
Der Antrag auf Gewährung des Stipendiums soll Folgendes beinhalten:
a) Titel des Projektes;
b) Kurzfassung des Projektes (max. eine DIN-A-4-Seite);
c) ausführliche Beschreibung des Projektes (samt Darstellung des bisherigen Status von Untersuchungen);
d) Ablaufplan der Untersuchungen mit Terminvorschlag für den Beginn;
e) Aufstellung der bisherigen Veröffentlichungen des/der Antragstellers/in;
f) Referenz eines Historikers aus dem Herkunftsland des/der Antragstellers/in;
g) Referenz eines polnischen min. Dr. habil. Historikers.

The Institute for Western Affairs in Poznań announces a competition for a scholarship for the realization of a scientific research project in the area of the history of Poland in the years 1939-1945 with special reference to the history of the German occupation.

To qualify for the scholarship the applicant must be a research scholar employed in a scientific institution with its seat outside the territory of the Republic of Poland, have documented scientific achievements and conduct or intend to conduct scientific research in the area of the history of Poland during the Second World War. Preference will be given to projects concerning the history of the German occupation.

The scholarship is granted for a period of 2 to 6 months. The scholarship is realized on the territory of Poland; the Institute for Western Affairs does not pay for research conducted abroad.

The decision of awarding the scholarship is taken by the Director of the Institute for Western Affairs on the basis of recommendation of a committee specially created to this end. The Institute reserves the right to shorten the duration of the scholarship applied for.

The scholarship holder receives a monthly amount of 1200 euros (in PLN according to the current exchange rate). No additional benefits are paid (e.g. travel costs reimbursement).
The deadline for submitting applications for the scholarship realized in 2019 expires on September 30, 2018.

The application for the scholarship should contain the following:

a)title of the project;
b) short description of the project (up to one page);
c) detailed description of the project (together with a presentation of the state of research done so far);
d) research schedule with proposed starting date;
e) list of the applicant’s publications to date;
f) letter of recommendation from a historian from the applicant’s country of origin;
g) letter of recommendation from a Polish historian who has an academic degree of habilitated doctor at the least.
