The seminar welcomes paper proposals from PhD and early career researchers (no more than 5 years after PhD completion) on any aspect of European cooperation and integration, broadly conceived, twentieth century to the present. We particularly welcome papers that make use of newly available primary sources and innovative methodologies.
The Alcide De Gasperi seminar is an ideal setting for the presentation of work-in-progress. Selected participants will be asked to submit a short paper in advance (5000 words) a week before their presentation, for circulation among the participants. Selected participants will present their work during the seminar for 15 minutes, followed by comments from a discussant, before opening the floor to a wider discussion.
The Alcide De Gasperi seminar is organised in hybrid mode (in presence at the EUI and on Zoom) in order to facilitate participation and is open to anyone after registration.
Applicants should send a brief 500-words abstract of their proposal, and a short CV by 5 December 2024 to adgrc@eui.eu. Selected applicants will be informed at the latest in January 2025.
In most cases, the Alcide De Gasperi Research Centre will cover the travel and accommodation costs of the selected participants.
Selection Committee: Maria Sole Barbieri, Jonah Berger, Emmanuel MourlonDruol, Margaret Pulk, Szinan Radi and Dieter Schlenker.
