The project deals with the research cooperation of the member countries of the Council for Mutual Economic Assistance (CMEA) in the 1970s and 1980s. It aims to provide new insights into CMEA, into the cooperation and competition among socialist countries, and into their actions on the European and global levels. Exemplarily, the project focuses on research cooperation in agriculture and forestry as well as in the field of environmental protection. These areas will be examined from two national perspectives – the GDR and the Polish People's Republic.
The Research Associate will focus on the participation of Polish actors (government, research institutions, scientists and technical experts) in research related to environmental protection within the framework of the CMEA.
