The programme is built around the developing research agenda of comparative historical sociology and includes topics such as current approaches to sociology of modernity; comparative sociology of empires; post-imperial and post-colonial perspectives in research on Central Asia. In addition to the theoretical block, the programme offers a range of activities such as masterclasses and field trips to help participants to hone their practical skills in research methods and field research in Central Asia.
